St. John Musicians Staff
The musician’s cabinet of St. John is open to all qualified musicians. Auditions are required. The Staff is open to, but not limited to: pianist, organist, drummers, horn players and percussionist. Musician’s rehearsals are Saturday evenings.
Choir Officers Administration
Section Leaders
Section Leaders in the choir will have two section leaders chosen by the minister of music. The responsibility of each section leader: calling section members for scheduled rehearsals and services, running sectional rehearsals, and keeping discipline and order in each section. The section leaders are the representatives of the section to the director and the minister of music. They are required to come to the new song rehearsal, which will be held during the musician rehearsal once a month.
Director/Directress
The Choir director is responsible for leading the choir during services. It is there responsibility to keep the choir together and to never let the choir get lost in a song. Each director/directress is required to attend every musician’s rehearsal.
Choir Secretary
The Choir secretary has the responsibility of typing the lyrics of each song in our repertoire and keeping an official catalogue of that repertoire. They will assist the minister of music in typing and passing out memos and announcements.
Music Committee
The purpose of the music committee is to assist the music department in whatever capacity possible. Members of the committee are seen as advisors to the minister of music and will assist him/her with the direction on the music department.
