Rev. Lance Chaney is a native of Great Neck, New York, Long Island later moving to Rock Island, Illinois. He is married to the lovely Marilane Chaney, and blessed with three beautiful children, Alex, Ashley, and Allison. His love of people and natural leadership ability led him to study at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he was called into the ministry and developed strong leadership skills. He holds a degree in Business Administration, Leadership Institute Certificate from Harvard School of Divinity, and currently completing a Masters of Divinity to pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry at Howard Divinity, Washington DC.

Rev. Lance Chaney is the Pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Boynton Beach, Florida. This historic congregation has been serving the community of some 99 years with only seven great leaders at its helm. Under the Leadership of Pastor Chaney God has brought bountifully blessings, phenomenal growth, and a multiplicity of ministries.

Prior to coming to St. John Missionary Baptist Church Rev. Chaney was the pastor of the Greater Antioch Baptist Church of Rock Island, Illinois where he served for 18 years. He served on the Board of Directors for Churches United, Rock Island School Board, NAACP Board of Directors, and many other community minded organizations.

His commitment to community enrichment continues to make an impact in the Boynton Beach area. He has founded the Heart of Boynton Beach Clergy Association, Founding Chairman of the Daystar Academy of Excellence (Charter School), Served on the Community Redevelopment Board of Boynton Beach, Co-Sponsored of the Community Forum, Board of Directors of Kids Corner TV, Board of Director of The Micah House (Drug Recovery), and Board of Director of the RM Lee Community Development Corporation. He has served as speaker and panelist for the Roots Culture Festival, MLK Community Celebration,  Social Security Administration, Alpha Phi Alpha Community Forums on Affordable Housing and Education, Save Darfur Coalition,  just to name a few.     

Pastor Chaney has received many honors and awards marking his accomplishments and contributions to the States of Illinois, Florida and beyond. Pastor Chaney has been in ministry for 28 years. His ministerial gift has drawn thousands, young and old, to witness the power of God through faith.
